URBAN FANTASY REVIEW: An Occult Crimes Investigation 2: Evil Dark - Justin Gustainis

Release Date: 03/05/12

SYNOPSIS:

“My name’s Markowski. I carry a badge. Also a crucifix, some wooden stakes, big vial of holy water and a 9mm Beretta loaded with silver bullets.”

A series of seemingly motiveless murders of supernatural creatures points to a vigilante targeting the supe community of Scranton.

Markowski wouldn’t normally have much of a problem with that, but his daughter may be next on the killer’s list…

REVIEW:

The Occult Crimes Unit returns in a new tale that not only hits the spot but pokes fun at the real world with this cracking new title. It has everything a reader could want, beautiful women, treacherous twists and when backed with Justin’s tongue in cheek style alongside a cracking lead character, it’s a tale of absolute Urban Fantasy delight.

Back this up with great prose, a wonderful twist of fate that keeps you guessing and of course a whole host of colourful supporting cast members and all in it’s a book that satisfies on so many levels. All in a cracking read and a tale that demonstrates why I’m such a huge Gustainis fan. Finally on a final note, if you’re finding waiting for the new Dresden book hard, then please give Justin a try, for me, he’s a wonderful diversion and another name to watch.

Hi there!

Could you compare it to the first book of the series? Does Gustainis continue his great writing style?
